I think that we are all familiar with coaching for sports & athletic teams.   Over the course of my parenting years, I have coached 42 sports teams for my daughter Bailey & my son Brant.   Starting at age 3, I coached their baseball, softball, girls & boys basketball, and girls & boys soccer teams.   I traveled the country for national showcases and AAU tournaments.   We had wins & losses, highs & lows, cheers & tears.     I loved every minute!!!


My knowledge of each sport was minimal at best.  Quite honestly, I was kind of an idiot when it came to the mechanics and that is why my sports coaching career ended when the kids became teenagers.  However, my strength then, as it is now, was mindset training.    Every kid on my basketball team knew how to box out and take a charge because that required no skill, just attitude and effort.   If you struck out or made an error, you had to say "who cares, get em next time."   And one thing is for certain, they all knew that "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."   


When a young boy, girl, startup business person or seasoned entrepreneur has toughness and tenacity as a foundation, you just know they are destined for great things!

Running a business is very similar to running a sports team.   The Owner/CEO/President has a game plan (business plan), assesses the competition, gathers a team of players, sets goals and objectives, instills a passion to play, and charges into battle.   Once the game starts, you begin to execute your game plan and like sports, your game plan doesn't always work as you envisioned.   New competitors, pricing pressures, new technologies, industry shifts, demographic changes, unanticipated events (i.e. Coronavirus), etc.   I can go on and on but rest assured, business is not linear.   The only thing that is guaranteed is change and as boxer Mike Tyson so eloquently put it– “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".   


By constantly reassessing your strategic plan, your team, your mindset, your assumptions, & your target market, you will improve your chance of winning.  You must always be running two companies:  TODAY Company & THREE YEARS FROM NOW Company and both need a piece of your attention.   


My passion for coaching started early, carried through graduate school as a teaching assistant, and continues into my professional life.   Over the years I have helped aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners start & scale their companies and I guarantee that my systems, strategies, and SAVAGE SECRETS will help propel your company to the next level!
